An unforgettable DanceSport tournament “World Open Minsk”, which set the highest bar and the absolute number of records for the organizers, becoming by right the hallmark of our country in the world of DanceSport since 2012:
- became the first tournament of the prestigious "WDSF WORLD OPEN" series in Eastern Europe;
- entered the top 5 and the largest WDSF tournaments in DanceSport in the world;
- held competitions in absolutely all ages - from Juvenile to Adult in both programs with the status of WDSF and 8! tournaments of the series WDSF WORLD OPEN;
- drew about 10 thousand spectators in one day of the event;
- gathered judges and dancers from 25! countries of the world;
- hosted more than 3,500 participants;
- hosted more than 300 participants in one age category (children);
- accepted about 100 pairs-participants in each of the categories of the WDSF World Open (St/La);
- was able to gather more than 12 star pairs for the series "WDSF World Open" (the highest rating coefficient);
- accepted more than 100 judges in one tournament;
- gathered about 10 judges - presidents of the federations of their countries in one judging panel;
- hosted Mr. Carlos Freitag (Spain), President of the World Dance Sport Federation, on his only official visit to Belarus;
- hosted world and European champions, contemporary legends of DanceSport, with demonstration performances on his floor:
- 1. Alexei Silde and Anna Firstova;
- 2. Sergey and Olga Konovaltsev;
- 3. Zoran Plohl and Tatjana Lahvinovich;
- 4. Benedetto Ferugia and Claudia Keller;
- 5. Andrei Zaitsev and Elizaveta Cervicheskaya;
- 6. Alexei Glukhov and Anastasia Glazunova;
- 7. Timur Immametdinov and Nina Bezubova;
- 8. Dmitry Zharkov and Olga Kulikova;
- assembled world-renowned experts of the highest caliber in the organizing committee of the event - scrutineers, masters of ceremony, DJs, and, as a matter of course, provided an online broadcast of the tournament and an orchestra (conducted by Boris Myagkov) to accompany it;
- provided the greatest number of gifts and prizes for its participants, including valuable cups (made of bronze) and handmade medals;
- held training camps on an international scale, bringing together over 20 world top teachers and over 200 pairs on one parquet.
And most importantly! Ensured the formation of the perception of our country all over the world as one of the leading dance powers, raising high the name of Belarus on the world dance arena.
