Tsyrkun Liudmila Nikolaevna was born July 14, 1977 in Minsk, more precisely, in one of the oldest cities of Belarus – Belarusian Switzerland – Logoisk. Her family was intelligent and educated: her father – Nikolai Petrovich – already in his youth had a higher education and an unusually successful career, he was even a nominee for the “Nobel Prize” in mathematics for the proof of the Fermat theorem, and later the director of the Russian-Belarusian holding company “Golden Ball“.
Nikolai Petrovich’s parents were an indigenous Minsk family of “Belarusian intelligentsia,” his father Peter, Liudmila’s grandfather, told her as a child about different historical stages of Belarus and the USSR, about their most important events, of which he knew firsthand, due to his position. He told her so enthusiastically and interestingly, that history and other humanities subjects later became not just easy, but her favorite.
Liudmila’s mother, Anna Nikolaevna, was a conductor by training, graduated from the famous music school in Molodechno, and worked in the theaters in Minsk: “The Russian Drama Theater named after M. Gorky,” “The Youth Theater of Variety”. Anna Nikolaevna was born in the village of Prudki in Logoisk district, where Liudmila also spent her happy childhood in the summertime. Her father was a musician, and her mother, Liudmila’s grandmother, a kind-hearted person with a name that speaks for itself – Magdalena – became Liudmila’s best friend during her lifetime and her “guardian angel” after her death.
At the age of 4, in kindergarten, Liudmila was selected by her natural data and talent to do rhythmic gymnastics in the famous sports organization club “Spartak”, where she practiced until October 1989. Over the years, she was a multiple winner of various competitions, championships and championships of Belarus, and in 1989 – successfully performed at the championship of the USSR in Bukhara and performed in the category of candidate master of sports. Her coaches considered her one of the most technically advanced gymnasts.
Training in rhythmic gymnastics tempered Liudmila’s character, made her independent and strong: two practices a day, responsible competitions, serious athletic camps, independent travel from an early age, the system of Soviet sports in general – all of this, of course, contributed to its formation. She had to end her training after several serious injuries, but gymnastics is still Liudmila’s favorite sport and she often dreams about it at night.
The main priority in Liudmila’s family was to give their children a decent and well-rounded education, for which her parents spared neither money nor effort. That is why, in spite of her serious gymnastics studies, Liudmila entered and from 1985 to 1992 studied at the children’s music school No. 12 in Minsk. It is interesting that she entered two music schools at once and was accepted at both of them, but she chose the one where her specialty was “violin (+ piano)”.
To combine professional training in sports and music at that time was not realistic, each demanded maximum dedication only in their side, because in gymnastics and music was a serious selection. To learn to play the violin – “The queen of music”, for example, you must have an absolute ear, and the rhythmic gymnastics of the Soviet school of sports and demanded strict requirements in everything. Liudmila, perhaps one in a million, succeeded in this by also adding the study of French and German to her development from childhood.

At the faculty of international relations her favorite subjects were logic and conflictology, at pedagogical college – children’s literature and psychology, and her graduation thesis “Ball in the fairy kingdom” from “Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts” turned into a great concert of her club.
